Initiatives

Collaborative Action for Research and Education is a forum dedicated to promoting higher education and research in the social sciences and humanities for students from marginalized communities through access, investment, and publication support. We understand knowledge held within universities and libraries as intergenerational, shaped in part by the contributions of those historically excluded from formal educational spaces. In this sense, redistributing resources and sharing opportunities becomes a necessary corrective to structural and historical injustices.We organize workshops on developing interdisciplinary research proposals, navigating archival research, writing literature reviews and citations, publishing academic work, and working with ethnographic methods.

Public Feelings is a digital and print biannual magazine. The inaugural issue of Public Feelings explores the theme ‘university.’ It will bring together heterogenous meanings and experiences that constitute the university as an infinite institution. We welcome essays and visual work on issues of identities, labor, police, politics, rent, debt, open access, knowledge, commodity, oppression, solidarity, social capital, and more.

A student-led society at the University of Oxford with the aim to discuss issues of significance for South Asia and explore political and academic debates on representation, press freedom, economic transformation, political conservatism, ethnic policing, and language politics.

In my work with the Oxford South Asian Ambedkar Forum, a student-led platform for discussing caste and inequality particularly in academia, we organised two significant conferences: Counting Caste: Breaking the Caste Deadlock in 2022 and Caste Beyond South Asia: Diaspora and the Internet in 2023.
